Berkshire Gas Completes Repairs on Natural Gas Line in Hatfield
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — October 22, 2021 1:00 p.m. — Berkshire Gas Company has completed repairs to the natural gas line in Hatfield that was accidentally damaged on Thursday by a non-utility construction crew on West Street. Crews immediately responded and the leak was stopped late Thursday night. Since that time, crews have been working to safely complete repairs, and the restoration process for the 40 impacted natural gas customers will be initiated between noon and 3 p.m. today.
In order to restore natural gas service to customers, the Berkshire Gas team must visit each home and business to conduct a safety inspection and relight the pilot.
